What Are Uterine Fibroids?
Uterine fibroids are benign (non-cancerous) smooth muscle tumours that develop from the muscular wall of the uterus.
They may occur as:

Fibroids can range in size from a few millimetres to several centimetres and may enlarge during the reproductive years.
Types of Uterine Fibroids
Intramural Fibroids

Watchful Waiting

Hysteroscopic Myomectomy

Fibroids and Fertility
Not all fibroids affect fertility.
Submucosal fibroids and selected large intramural fibroids that distort the uterine cavity are the most likely to interfere with implantation and pregnancy.
